Synthetic fibers cause Skin Irritation and Allergic reactions
Fibers like polyester, nylon, and acrylic often cause skin irritation in children. I experienced this when I wore a nylon kurta in the summer, and my skin was completely red with rashes and irritation. Synthetic fibers can trap a lot of heat and can lead to rashes in summer or hot temperatures in general and it may also cause several allergic reactions
Tip- Check the label before you buy the clothes or check the description when you buy clothes offline or online.
2. Synthetic Fibres may cause Respiratory Issues.

Synthetic fibers, like those in processed foods, are treated with several chemicals, like formaldehyde. These chemicals, like most, are harmful to your children and us. Over time these chemicals release several harmful compounds that can lead to respiratory problems and specially in children. This was one of the scariest ones that made me take a deeper look at each and every clothing label before I bought them
Tip- Look for 100 percent cotton on the labels of all the clothes you buy for your young ones to avoid complications
3. Synthetic Fibers cause Overheating
Synthetic fibers are not breathable as in, air does not pass through it easily, it does not allow proper air circulation and where there is no proper air circulation there is heat, so when a child wears such clothes their body can become hot as a microwave. And our children’s bodies are just developing and they are more prone to overheating because they are not used to heat.
4. Synthetic Fibres accumulate Microplastics
Synthetic fibers release several tiny particles known as microplastics. If you didn’t know, microplastics are tiny, microscopic pieces of plastic linked to potential health risks, such as disruption of the immune system.
Tip- If you would like to stay completely safe use a laundry bag designed to catch microplastics
5. Synthetic fibers can Catch on Fire
Synthetic fibres can overheat and melt which can cause severe burns when they are exposed to high heat. This is serious, especially in situations where they may come into contact with high temperatures
